Mirage

About the event

Mirage is an immersive cybersecurity experience under CCS X Helix, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, combining augmented reality with real-world exploration. The campus transforms into an interactive digital playground where teams engage in a high-stakes cyber hunt.

Participants take on the role of cyber operatives, navigating through AR-based challenges mapped to campus locations. Each landmark becomes a problem-solving node, requiring teams to decode clues, analyze threats, and respond strategically.

The event simulates real-world cybersecurity scenarios, guiding participants through key stages like reconnaissance, exploitation, and analysis—testing their technical skills, adaptability, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Rules and regulations

• All the members of a team must be of same college.
• Strictly digital interaction must be maintained; any physical interference or property damage will lead to disqualification.
• Participants must follow all instructions given by coordinators and within the AR system.
• Any unfair means or attempt to bypass challenges will result in disqualification.
• Organizers may modify the AR grid or rules to ensure fairness.
• The decision of the coordinators will be final and binding in all cases.

Shortlisting Criteria

• Teams will be shortlisted based on registration responses.

Selection will be based on:

1. Interest and enthusiasm
2. Problem-solving approach
3. Team coordination and intent
